Sustainability
Since its start back in 1996, sustainability has maintained at the heart of Standing Stone’s mission statement. The company has seen many innovative projects come to fruition in part to the integrity the Rogue Valley has found synonymous with the Amarotico name. Far before Standing Stone taking shape, the Amarotico family has based core beliefs in sustainable practices.
Here today in 2016, Standing Stone boasts not only one of Oregon’s Top Ten Green Businesses for the past six years, but other accolades that prove the company’s passion and commitment to environmentally-conscious business practices. In 2012, the company launched the One Mile Farm, and over the past five years the project has not only succeeded in supplying the restaurant with a local and progressive source of sustainably raised meats, but has also managed to dwindle the restaurant’s carbon footprint by diverting over twenty tons of waste from the landfill each year. Through our waste management program, we are 100% committed to becoming a zero-waste facility.
In January 2016, Standing Stone continued in its commitment to local, environmental efforts in joining forces with the Brewshed® Alliance. Partnered together with Oregon Wild and craft breweries across the state of Oregon, we are working to protect and preserve our clean water sources.
Look for Standing Stone’s participation at upcoming Brewshed® Alliance events.
