2017’s Brewshed Brewfest was an impressive intro to the Oregon Brewshed Alliance. To say the least, we’re excited to join this community of conservation motivated beverage industry folks. I believe the farm-focused work we’re doing at Mainstem will serve as a nice complement to the wildland-focused work of the Alliance and Oregon Wild, offering a new dimension for potent conservation collaborations amongst Brewshed partners. We can all do some big things together.

About UsMainstem Malt is a water conservation and rural development engine, fueled by craft beer and spirits fans. We believe the vast majority of farmers want to do right by the environment and their communities, but face significant economic constraints from globalized commodity markets. By bringing value-added markets closer to their farms and by linking consumer willingness-to-pay to their ethics, we can help tackle some of the most vexing issues facing our natural resources and rural places.

Northwest craft brewers and distillers can look to us as a pioneering purveyor of Salmon-Safe Certified, dry farmed, single source, craft malted, and overall story rich grains. The winds of change are blowing in the malting industry and we strive to be at their leading edge.
