About: Coleman Agriculture is a 6th generation family owned and operated farm with headquarters just south of the small historic Oregon community of St. Paul.  We’re proud to lead agriculture through innovation and modern practices while enriching partnerships and maintaining family farm values.

At Coleman we manage over 8,000 acres of land in the Willamette Valley cultivating some of the highest quality crops you’ll find anywhere. We specialize in hops, hazelnuts, industrial hemp, seed crops and a variety of vegetables, selling directly to brokers and commercial partners. Being one of the most diverse hop growers in Oregon, we produce over 3.5 million pounds annually from 22 distinct varieties. As Oregon’s largest producer of hops, our farms and facilities are located in unique regions of the Willamette Valley from St. Paul, Mission Bottom, Mt. Angel, and Independence. It is within our diverse farm ground that we are able to grow and foster premium crops.

Sustainability: Our team is focused on continually aligning our values with those of our brewing partners. We believe that the creation of great craft brews starts in the field and is fostered through the union of our seasoned hop team, passionate brewers, brilliant scientists & researchers, along with our hop suppliers. As modern farmers, we’re committed to protecting the environment with sustainably driven practices. We strive to farm with an innovate lens for a healthier ecosystem while still honoring our heritage and traditional farming practices.

Our sustainability programs:

  • Cover crops reduce our carbon footprint by eliminating excess cultivation, provide nitrogen, create natural weed control, and prevent erosion
  • Releasing predatory mites bolster efforts toward biodiversity and healthy farming
  • Salmon-Safe sustainability program follows water quality and habitat conservation practices to reduce watershed impacts on fish
  • Planting wildflowers around our hop yards provide a home for beneficial insects such as ladybugs
  • Drip irrigation helps improve plant health and water conservation
  • Soil moisture sensors accurately provide data to field managers which decreases unnecessary water use
  • Propane kiln burners reduce our carbon footprint while providing consistent moister control for higher quality hops
  • Launch of Terroir study with OSU will accelerate information for best soil management practices while benefiting the entire hop and brewing industries to create the best brews
